In the heart of Mandurah, you can spend the day relaxing on the Green lawns running along the estuary edge. The foreshore is ideal for family outings, with children's play areas, wood barbeques, picnic shelters, tables, conveniences and changerooms. The town's main shopping area is opposite and from the lawns you can keep a close watch on children swimming safely in the estuary.

High above the reserve stretches Australia's tallest Cotton Palm, 'Slim Jim'. It stands 39.5 metres (130 feet) high and is over 50 years old. Adjacent to the old Mandurah Bridge.
