Mundaring Community Park is located on the site of the former Mundaring Railway Station (now gone). The old platform speaks to us of the past, of travellers on the once busy eastern line from Fremantle to York. The railway line, without its tracks, still dominates even though the native flora is slowly reclaiming the site.

Each season tells a different story. Golden wattles, gums, and wildflowers add natural beauty. Located within the beautiful setting of the mundaring park is the unique Moodae-ring acoustic sculpture. Carved from Karri and Wandoo timbers the sculpture is visually exciting and fun to experience.

A variety of sounds can be activated by pressing the touch activated panels. The sounds can be mixed and matched or listened to separately. Re-live your childhood - no visit to the hills is complete without experiencing the Moondae-ring acoustic sculpture. A unique site which speaks to us about local history, and the natural environment.

Further Information
To date, eight Western Australian artists have created sculptures for the park - Hans Arkeveld, Alan Clark, Peter Dailey, Stuart Elliot, Richard Fry, Ron Sims and Jon Tarry. Artist trevor Woodward's contribution lay not in the making of an individual sculpture, but as sculptor in the community involved in formulating the original design concept of the park.
