Ben Lomond is a pristine and relatively untouched mountain located in the north east of Tasmania; only an hours drive east of Launceston.

Summer or winter, the rocky Ben Lomond draws many visitors to explore this rough terrain. The area is rife with adventure seekers taking advantage of the challenging summer activities such as rock climbing, hiking, bushwalking and mountain biking. Ben Lomond and the surrounding national park offer amazing views and an abundance of flora and fauna, some rare species and breathtaking views.

Ben Lomond can be seen from most of the northern midlands of Tasmania. This is a stunning vision especially with its winter snow capped peak. There is some of the best skiing in Tasmania. In winter, locals and tourists alike enjoy cross-country and downhill skiing, snowboarding and snow shoeing.

Getting There
To reach the park, take C roads from Evandale then follow the 17 km gravel road to the ski village. Jacobs Ladder, a steep and narrow section of the road, demands great care, especially in winter conditions, when chains should be carried. The ranger station at the foot of the mountain can give advice on road conditions during winter. Weather in alpine areas changes rapidly; be prepared for cold, wet conditions, even in summer.
