Dinosaur and Fossil Country

Visit one of the oldest parts of the earth's crust. This is amply illustrated when inspecting the World Heritage Listed Riversleigh Fossil Field, north west of Mount Isa, or when visiting the excellent Riversleigh Fossils Centre that has been established in Mount Isa.

Dinosaurs once roamed this country. Today's visitor can come face to face with the monsters of yesterday at the Hughenden Dinosaur Museum in Hughenden, that's where Muttaburrasaurus now resides. The Richmond Kronosaurus Korner and Marine Fossils Museum is another recommended attraction for those interested in revisiting the past.
