If fishing is your idea of a relaxing weekend away, we've got just what you've been looking for. With seven major river system including the Murray, Little Murray, Wakool, Niemur, Edwards, Loddon and Avoca Rivers along with the Gunbower Creek all flowing through the region there is no better place to sit back, relax, wet a line and enjoy some great fishing. Some of the fish in the region include - Murray Cod, Golden Perch, Freshwater Crayfish and Trout Cod.

Recreational fishermen need a license to fish in NSW and Victorian freshwater rivers and dams. A NSW fishing license is required for fishing in the Murray River. Those less than 18 years and holders of certain Commonwealth pensioner cards and Aboriginal people are exempt from holding a license.
