Located on the Summit of Conwy Mountain, is the Iron Age Hill Fort known as Castell Caer Lleion. An impressive and accessible hill fort; protected on all sides by a stone wall apart from to the north where it is defended naturally, this hill fort was once home to as many as 60 roundhouses. Today you can still see the remains of about 50 stone huts and levelled house platforms. The huts were located to the south within a thick stonewall.

The summit is a thousand feet above sea level and there is plenty of wildlife to view on the surrounding slopes, with wild ponies found around this area. There is a path for walkers that takes you right up the mountain to the site but visitors are asked to take care not to dislodge historic remains. Most walks take at least 30 minutes to reach the hill fort, but are worth it for the views alone.
