Busselton's underwater observatory in Western Australia has proved to be a major attraction since its opening. The $3.6 million facility has been visited by 400 people a day keen for a glimpse of underwater life more than two kilometres out to sea.
The observatory at the end of Busselton's famous jetty is said to be the first of its kind in Australia. The observatory allows up to 40 people the opportunity to view an amazing marine environment, without getting wet. Descend 8 metres below the surface and view the reef through eleven viewing windows at different levels, in the 9.5 metre diameter viewing chamber. Located near the end of the jetty, the observatory is 1.8km out to sea and home to an amazing array of over 300 marine species.
