Situated 21km south of Margaret River, and 33km from Augusta, Mammoth Cave is an easily accessible subterranean paradise which is well-known for its fossil remains.
A walking trail leads visitors along a boardwalk to the cave entrance, crossing over Mammoth Stream. From here you enter into the cave for a self-guiding experience.
At 500m long and 30m deep, Mammoth Cave is a fascinating time capsule revealing secrets of the local flora, fauna and climate. As the natural light bounces off the formations and winter stream you will understand why this cave was originally named the 'Dawn of Creation'.
