The Queanbeyan Art Society is a non-profit organisation which holds art exhibitions, competitions and classes.
The venue is O'Neil's Cottage, a charming 1880's brick cottage set on the bank of the Queanbeyan River.
Of the 11 exhibitions held each year, four feature works entered in the Society's major annual art competitions covering oils, drawing, works on paper and artists/student of the year. Others include members' shared and solo exhibitions and varying themes.
Art classes are held on weekdays, weekends and evenings. They cover all mediums and some specialise in a particular subject matter. A relaxed and supportive environment is encouraged and students of all levels are welcome. Tuition costs are minimal. In addition to the regular art classes, visiting professional tutors conduct workshops throughout the year. The Society also produces a monthly newsletter which keeps members informed on news and activities.
