Bala Backpackers is the ideal budget accommodation, located in Bala close to the lakeshore. The lake at Bala is five miles long and offers a host of water sports, the National White Water Centre is a short drive away offering multi graded white water rafting to all levels.

The accommodation offers 27 Economical and Comfortable single beds in an early 1800's Character Building. With 3x four-bedded bays and 3x five-bedded bays, and can accommodate most combinations of the male/female ratio, with the use of partitions.

After staying in many hostels, this was by far the worst!! Im sure you could find a B&B for a similar price. Loud noise from all the people who think they are in a nightclub, children could not sleep. The lady who owns the hostel does not greet her customers well and a lot of people from the area say she is known for being 'loopy' ... Read More (Date of experience: May, 2010 )

The room had a very strong smell of dumpness. We had to spent the night in the car. The owners (husband& wife) used very strong language to deny it . Their explanation was the plastic bath mats they had left at the bathroom radiators ... Read More (Date of experience: Mar, 2010 )
