The British Association of Mountain Guides was set up to provide a recognised standard to the highest level of Mountain guide in the UK. It now has over 140 members with aspirants working their way through the qualification process. The members hold the highest internationally recognised qualification for instruction and guiding in rock and ice climbing, mountaineering and off-piste skiing and ski touring- the coveted IFMGA carnet.
