White Hart Hotel is located in the wonderful Devon town of Holsworthy. White Hart is a family run free house establishment who offer real ales including some special ales from the local breweries, which are really worth trying.

The hotel also cater for both bar snacks and a full a la carte menu in our Downstairs restaurant. All meat, poultry and vegetables are bought from the local traders and retailers and prepared to extremely high standards.

The separate Upstairz Bar is open late every Friday and Saturday evening and for special sporting events. With 12 screens, large sound system and with music to suit all ages it's a great night out. They offer accommodation for both holiday and business visitors, for either short or longer term stay from a selection of 7 rooms.

Details

History: The White Hart Hotel dates back to 1591, this is the earliest records that they have managed to find although it is rumoured parts of the building are even older. The Hart is the Deer found on the front of the building and is original. The White Hart Hotel is 'lodged' (sitting down) this date back to Richard II. He gave houses the lodged hart to show he used it as a residence. The White Hart has had many changes in the last 24 years. They have updated all areas and even moved the main bar (the dive) from downstairs to its location now situated in the original reception area. While they try to keep the atmosphere of a traditional country pub and hotel they also have the more up to date areas such as the music bar; UpstairZ.
Facilities: All rooms have a colour TV, hand washing facilities and Tea and coffee making facilities. They can also provide Irons hair dryers on request. The White Hart offer a full English or Continental breakfast which is included in the price of the room. An extensive bar menu and A la Carte menu is offered in the restaurant and bar at lunchtime and in the evening. They have a private car park with limited spaces and are also only a few yards away from the towns main car park. The hotel does not offer an in-house laundry service but there is a laundrette across the street. They accept all major credit cards and appreciate the rooms being vacated by 10.00 am on the morning of departure.
