Dolbadarn Castle stands dramatically at the end of Llyn Padarn and is one of the most photographed spots in Snowdonia. The Castle was built by Llywelyn ab Iorwerth ('the Great') early in the 13thcentury.
The site has now been cleared and maintained, it is still an awe-inspiring sight for visitors. It is reached from the southeast end of Llanberis just past the end of the High Street on to the main road, almost directly opposite the Snowdon Mountain Railway.
