Joe Brown is recognised as on of the best climbers in the UK of his generation; he completed many first ascents and has developed many climbing items that have stood the test of time.

Joe and his wife Val, opened their first shop in Llanberis in 1966. The Capel Curig shop, about 10 miles away, opened a few years later.
