Pen-y-Gwryd is a famous climbing Inn located at the foot of Snowdon. It has been in the same family since 1947 and has changed little over the years, offering simple pleasures in abundance. Mountaineers have congregated at this hotel for generations including the 1953 Everest team who used it as a training base before the expedition.
The Hotel rooms are spotless and all have fluffy towels, monogrammed linen and some have authentic Victorian baths that add the character of this wonderful place. Good food is served for guests; announced by a gong and the residents bar is always a warm and inviting place with many climbers and tourists soaking up the atmosphere. The Everest Room has the signatures of many world famous climbers on the ceiling and has a cosy log fire to warm you up after a day on the Mountains. There is a sauna in the garden and a Natural Pool to dip into. This Hotel has been quoted as being a "national treasure" and is in every sense a unique place to stay or visit.
