Imperial Hotel York

My hubby and four legged companion were advised to stop by the Imperial for lunch yesterday and I have to say we were most disappointed.
The food looked fantastic and I thought was reasonably priced - however there were just too many flavours - I opted for the steak sandwich with fries - which came on a homemade roll which was great but over powered with hazelnuts, the cheese was overpowering, the sauce was overpowering and the onions were overpowering ... No one can fault the effort that has been put into upgrading the features of the Imperial Hotel which is truly outstanding as a mark of renovation. However, when you peddle yourself as a dining experience and you fail to deliver on quality, edible food, then you have to wonder, "Why the effort?"
