Here in the lush Wallaman Falls section of Girringun National Park, come, get back to nature and explore the Gugigugi (Butterfly) Walk.

So on your first day, take the 18.7 klm walk through the open forest along the high banks of the Herbert River. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for resident wildlife and listen out for the noisy chatter of scaly-breasted lorikeets or the deep, gruff call of a wompoo fruit-dove. Then to top off the day, enjoy a night camping under the stars at Stony Creek campsite.

Up nice and early is the best way to do it so on your second day head towards the Henrietta gate (19.6 klms) and you'll see that some areas are not the pristine natural environments you'd expect to find. Despite some of the rough surroundings, the area really is quite special. Henrietta Creek is the ideal spot to stop for lunch and to fill your water bottles before tackling the last section of the track.
