Tyto Wetlands

Tyto is a 90-hectare wetland site located in close proximity to the township of Ingham. It integrates lagoons, interpretive signs, lookouts and hides, aiming to entice visitors to spend more time at Tyto.

Tyto's carefully preserved natural environment features native flora and 4 kilometres of walkways. Interpretive signs, marked lookouts and specially created viewing platforms allow visitors to view wildlife without interference or disturbance to their habitats.

The name of the wetland comes from the endangered eastern Grass Owl. The observation deck allows visitors a chance to see the Grass Owl as it flies out at dusk. Visitors also have the opportunity to see the Osprey nest site.
