Wallaman Falls in Girringun National Park - the largest single drop waterfall in Australia, is where you can take the Jagany (Goanna) Walking track to get the most out of your lush, tropical surroundings.
On your first day, the walk follows a 23.3 klm forestry track through a range of landscapes, open forest and rainforest. You will pass by Garrawalt Creek and Flagstone Creek before camping at the Pack Trail campsite. Ensure you carry adequate drinking water. For a more enjoyable experience walk in the early morning.
The second day of the walk is 13.9 klms and begins on part of the Dalrymple Track, at the base of the hill you will pass through a big scrubby gully before the turn-off to the campsite at Stony Creek.
And to finish it off with 19.6 klms on the third day, enjoy a walk through the forest along the banks of the Herbert River. To ensure your walk is fun and comfortable, try to visit between May and September when the weather and track conditions are at their best.
