Privately owned and operated Daintree Wild Zoo, located in the heart of the Daintree in Queenslands North, is a wonderful place to visit and have a great time. The zoo is set in 10 acres of landscaped tropical gardens and is home to 147 species of Australian natives.

It is home to the captive breeding program of the critically endangered northern Quoll, as well as the blue-faced parrot finch and the golden shouldered parrot.

See crocs being fed, hand feed the resident cassowaries, cuddle a joey kangaroo or have your photograph taken with a spectacular red-tailed black cockatoo or a python. You could also take a guided tour and see our rare golden brushtail possums or the large collection of cockatoos and parrots. And be sure to visit the refreshing Mangroves Restaurant for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a refreshing cool drink. Nearby accommodation is also available if you dont get to it all in one day!

There were quite a few animals looking ill and the others looked downright hungry
