Shaped like an upturned boat, the flat-topped ridge called Boat Mountain is a distinctive landmark near Murgon. Rising 589 metres, it offers panoramic views across the South Burnett countryside.
The landscape forms a changing tapestry as crops ripen. Popular with walkers the park has four walking tracks, ranging from 370 metres to 2.2 kilometres; see vine forest or appreciate views from two lookouts.
Wear protective clothing to avoid being scratched by prickly shrubs. Naturalists, photographers and birdwatchers will also enjoy this park. At least 60 species of birds have been identified and the list is growing.
