The Gordonbrook Dam is the sole source of water supply for Kingaroy; it was built in 1941 to provide water for the Royal Australian Air Force Training Base. In 1987 due to increased demand the dam wall was raised and the inundated area is now 229 hectares.

Take time to enjoy the stunning views of the dam from the observation platform, explore the variety of walking tracks along the waters edge or picnic at the tables provided and use the wood fired barbecues.

The dam provides a haven for over 100 different species of birds. The area is a significant migratory water bird site with sightings of Jacanas, White Breasted Sea Eagles and Pygmy Geese.
