Platypus Valley offers a unique Bed and Breakfast accommodation and is located in the heart of Cradle Country, which brings you a little bit of Switzerland to Tasmania. The cosy home is tastefully decorated with lots of features. This includes two bedroom, modern bathroom with spa ( hairdryer provided.) Curl up in your own Loungeroom equipped with TV, DVD, Stereo CD player and barfridge. You will find a wood fire as well as electric heating throughout and all beds are fitted with electric blankets for extra warmth. Relax on the daybed or sit in our new build Gazebo while watching the platypus play. Each morning you will be spoiled with a delicious country style breakfast and in the evening everyone can enjoy their complimentary glass of port. Platypus Valley is just around the corner of Lake Barrington, 10 minutes drive from Sheffield (Town of Murals), 30 minutes to Devonport and only 50 minutes drive to the attractions of Cradle Mountain, Dove Lake and World Heritage areas.

Local Area: Sheffield is a rural town with a most unusual collection of murals, more than 30 of them, that illustrate the history of the area. Arts and crafts are among the important activities in the area and galleries and studios display high quality hand weaving, leatherwork and pottery. There is also a community museum, a deer farm and an emu farm. The town is near Lake Barrington, the venue of international rowing competitions, and is surrounded by wonderful scenery.
