University of Wales Bangor

The University of Wales Bangor opened its doors on 18 October 1884 in an old coaching inn with 58 students and 10 members of staff. Today, they have over 10,000 students and 2,000 members of staff. Bangor University is committed to providing teaching of the highest quality, and to contribute to the development of the economy, health and culture of a sustainable Wales and a sustainable world.

Over half of the departments assessed to date in the teaching quality assessments have received the top rating of excellent.
