30 km beyond Geeveston, on the banks of the mighty Huon River is the popular Picton River & Tahune Picnic Area. The Bluestone Shelter and barbecue sites are close by and are also a popular place to picnic or barbecue.

There is a multitude of things to do in this area. Guided rafting tours take you on the Picton River and then through easy rapids and quiet reaches to the Huon River. Four wheel driving, rafting, bushwalking and fishing are also popular.
