Two hectares of landscaped gardens and lawns sit beside 26 hectares of cool temperate rainforest at Edith Creek near Smithton. Paths for 10, 15 and 25-minute walks have been made through the lovely tree fern glades, eucalyptus and blackwood trees.
In the gardens, different plants feature every month and a garden of 16th and 17th century roses is being developed. A natural stream runs through the property, home to a platypus. Pheasants, peacocks, guinea fowl and pigeons wander freely through the gardens.
In November and December you can take a two-hour walk from the gardens and through the rainforest to view wild flowers. Crafts, including knitted fibre from Angora goats on the property are for sale, and lunch and teas are available.
