Khancoban pondage is 3km long and a part of the Snowy Scheme and used extensively for recreation.

There is a cemented boat ramp, picnic area with tables and chairs as well as specific swimming area. It is a very popular fishing spot and very popular with water skiers.

The backdrop of Kosciuszko National Park and the Snowy Mountains make this a popular retreat at any time of the year.

There are toilets, a barbecue, sheltered area and plenty of water for fishing and fun.
