Scotia Sanctuary is situated in the far south western plains of NSW, approximately 150kms south of Broken Hill, adjacent to the South Australian border.

The sanctuary is 65,000ha in size, and is located within the Murray Mallee subregion of the Murray Darling Depression Bioregion.

Scotia Sanctuary is known to support 211 species of native wildlife, 21 of which are threatened and an additional 17 of which are considered to be of conservation significance.
