Built in 1869 and classified by the National Trust, Port Macquarie's Historic Courthouse is the only 1800s government building left in town. The building was designed by James Barnet the Colonial Architect and built by Butler & Bourne local builders. The total cost was 1,091 pounds and nine shillings, and it served the community for 117 years.
