Ease into this testing walk in Lamington National Park on the graded descent to Yerralahla (Blue Pool) on Canungra Creek.
From here the sometimes steep Middle Ridge Traverse is a faint trail that presents both aerobic and navigational challenges for experienced bushwalkers.
The climb up the Darlington Range culminates in views from Noowongbill Lookout before descending into the Coomera River and the refreshing Gwongoorool Pool.
A graded path leads you up to the road just 1500 metres from Binna Burra where you can choose between the lodge or the well appointed campground.
The next day's walk is far less challenging, although the 23 kilometres of the Border Track will fill most of the day. The track features some spectacular lookouts and ancient Antarctic Beech forests.
