Rising sharply from the surrounding plains, Ucontitchie Hill is a beautiful rock formation located 32km southwest of Wudinna.
Standing in isolation, the domed granite hill is internationally renowned for its display of geological features and can be seen for several kilometres around. While only 37m high, the hill can be very steep at times and is best not attempted by children or the elderly.
Around the base of the hill you can see unique wave structures indicating previous levels of long since eroded soils, as well as fascinating boulders of granite which have been internally eroded into features known as Tafoni.
Entry to the rock is by gold coin donation, which is placed in an honesty box at the base of the hill. There is ample parking located at the site.
