Part of the Crater Lakes area of Mount Gambier, Blue Lake is a significant tourist attraction formed in the remains an extinct volcano.

Changing colour from winter blue to a rich turquoise during warmer months; this vast lake supplies water to the city of Mount Gambier and the surrounding district. One of 4 crater lakes, Blue Lake is an average depth of around 70m.

The crater lakes area is a great spot for a weekend getaway, with walking trails, picnic areas and BBQ facilities. Tours are also available to the surface of Blue Lake.
