Situated on the banks of the Swan River, Woodbridge was built in 1885 for Charles Harper, one of the outstanding personalities of his time.
He was, in turn explorer, pastoralist, pearler, agriculturalist, inventor, educationalist, newspaper proprietor, and a member of the state legislature.
In 1896 Charles Harper founded the Guildford Grammar School in the billiard room. Woodbridge remained a home until 1920 when it became a private school.
Woodbridge has been faithfully restored as a residence of the late Victorian period. Much of the original furniture remains.
