The Darling Range is the tilted edge of a large plateau that is the foundation of this part of Western Australia. It is here where some of the oldest rocks on Earth are exposed.
The Range is home to a number of excellent bushwalks, National Parks, arts and craft stores, hotels, restaurants, and many other things to see and do on a weekend getaway.
The western extremity of the Darling Range is the Darling Scarp. Standing 200 metres or so above the coastal plain it is the distinctive feature of the Perth horizon. The scarp exposes huge granite rocks again and favours Wandoo trees.
