The Old Goldfields Orchard consists of about 30 acres of deciduous fruit trees. These include Apples, Pears, Nashi, Plums, Peaches and Perisimmon.
Cool stores on the site enable us to market fruit locally all throughout the year. The Nashi orchard (Asian pear) is the largest nashi planting in Western Australia. Visitors are free to watch the workers go about their daily tasks. Fruit is available for purchase at very reasonable prices. "Pick Your Own Fruit" is available depending on season/timing.
Named after the gold reef discovered on the farm in 1897/98, Reef became the first boutique cider factory in Western Australia since the now defunt, historical "Donnybrook Cider Co." 50 years earlier. Five types of cider - Sweet, Ginger, Scrumpy, Mull and Dry- are made using fresh apples grown in the orchard. All five ciders have met success at the Perth Royal Show, receiving over 47 medals since 1997, including the most recent gold medal in 2005, plus many silver and bronze medals.
