This viewpoint on Marlston Hill, the original site of Bunbury's lighthouse, looks directly over popular harbour beach, the small boat harbour and the breakwater reaching out from casuarina point.
The lookout was built by Bunbury builders, Devaughs, at a cost of $150,000. $100,000 was contributed by the state bicentennial programme and the remaining $50,000 was donated by the builders as a bicentennial gift to the city of Bunbury.
Sasha Ivanovich designed the lookout, and the bunbury leschenault rotary club were project organisers.
