Kingston Park has superb coastal views. Take time to explore the coastal reserve, visit the John Dowie Rock Sculpture at the heritage Aboriginal Site and learn the Dreamtime Story of Tjilbruke and how the Spring Site evolved. Kingston House was built originally in 1840; this was the home of Charles Cameron Kingston, former premier and progressive federal parliamentarian. Kingston was premier of South Australia from 1893 to 1899. Under this government, South Australia was the first state to introduce voting for women. Charles Cameron Kingston is often referred to as the 'Father of Federation' or the 'Forgotten Man of Federation'.

The Holdfast Bay area is the home of the Kaurna people. Sites such as the Tjilbruke springs are of special significance. The spring was not only a source of drinking water but also significant in the Tjilbruke story. A monument was erected on the site in 1972.
