Hostel was having a refurbishment, so a bit of work noise now and again but was no problem. No TV in the dorms anymore but the cool common area well makes up for it! I spent a night there last month and was shocked. I've stayed in some average hostels before, but this is by far the worst. The rooms were filthy, the television didn't work, the bunks are rusty and the ladder was attached with string(no joke), and the toilet and shower were both leaking ... Read More

I stayed here on for two nights and it was horrible. From the moment you arrive you have to wade past the people boozing it up and smoking to get inside, the staff are unfriendly, the place is filthy dirty, they make you check the room first as they dont do refunds, on glance it looks ok, once you have paid and they have hooked you in you discover, the sheets are stained and have big hairs in them, there is no blanket, no toilet paper the bathroom is dirty and the TV hardly works ... This was by far the best backpackers I stayed in. Even when I moved to Brissy I went down every weekend. Met some great people and the staff (Moses in particular) helped me to party hard. Miss it loads and can't wait to come back again next year '07 ... Read More
