We completed our first trip on the Spirit of Tassie II last Friday 13 Jan 12 - a day voyage. In a word - boring and expensive. As has been mentioned here, these ships are really night ferries and there is not much to do or see on a day voyage of at least 10 hours duration ... Read More (Date of experience: Jan, 2012 )

We've been across and back a few times and never get the cabins we want. We pay for a deluxe, get downgraded. We pay for a double, get downgraded to a quad. Staff don't seem to be at all concerned, and there are no refunds ... Read More (Date of experience: Feb, 2010 )

We have worked out what we don't like (sitting up overnight) and what we really love about the trip ... Read More

I booked & paid for a twin porthole cabin. These show on the site, twin beds with a porthole between through which you see the sea. All twin porthole cabins are like this. And they are expensive. This was a special weekend only expensive trip for me and my son who had just graduated after 6 years study and is working untold hours ... Read More

Have travelled many times on the Spirit as we are Grey Nomaders taking a caravan to and from the mainland. Accommodation is fine. Very basic but its not a luxury trip, just a way to get from Tassie to the mainland ... Read More (Date of experience: Nov, 2009 )
