Great value and very friendly staff
by thedoctor (prior to 01/07/2010)Stayed here for one night and while the weather was extremely hot, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely old pub in beautiful condition. The room was basic but comfortable and clean. A/c would have made it a fabulous place to stay, but at least the overhead fan worked at full speed all night ... Read More

Getting ThereThe Hunter Valley is two hours drive north of Sydney, the main road access from Sydney is via the Newcastle Freeway; take the 'Cessnock' exit. If you prefer to travel by coach a train to Newcastle connects with a bus service. To travel by plane, fly to Williamtown Airport in Newcastle and then go by road to Cessnock.
