If your planning a visit to the Bright, head to Harrietville instead! "Shady Brook Cottages" is very well named... They are just that... We love it there! Beautiful gardens, close by a great cafe called "Morries" only a few pleasant minutes walk away, beside the stream ... Read More

Additional InfoShady Brook set on river flats with 5 acres of magnificent landscaped gardens planted 100 of exotic trees, 1000s of flowering shrubs such as Camellias, rhododendrons and roses but many many more. 1km to the Great Alpine Road will lead you to Morries Icecreamy where you can part take in homemade icecream, excellent coffee & amazing light lunches. There are private walking tracks up into the bush on the adjoining mountain into a fern gully and out on to ridges with old gold mines and magnificent views of snow clad mountains. Take a picnic and sit in your own seclusion in the midst of it and relax. There is an abundance of wildlife that can be seen at Shadybrook, bright parrots of all sizes, superb wrens, lyre birds, wild ducks; possum, wombats, wallaby and deer are regular visitors.
