Thunderbird Park

My husband and I just returned from a weekend away camping with the kids at Thunderbird Park. This is the 4th time we have visited the park and we will definitely continue to go back. I have never experienced so few amenities for such a high price.

$28 for 2 people per night puts it among the most expensive parks I've visited.

However, the campsites are full of stones and rocks (inappropriate for tents, unpleasant for everyone), the amenities block is a days' march from the campsites and contains only 4 toilets and 4 showers ... Read More (Date of experience: Mar, 2011 )

We got there only to find it is two separate camping grounds. We had bush camping and were given a map with a highlighted path to a site in the middle of the road - all the sites were sloping sites with ground not suitable to camp on - additionally the girl at reception didn't want to know us and told the wrong site to start with - the service was terrible - luckily the people we mixed up with who were camping next to us said they didn't mind to swap ... We spent 6 nights at the creek side camping sites over the New Year. It is not until you get there that you find out that there are two camping grounds with separate amenities.
