Footprints at Preston

I recently stayed at Footprints this weekend just gone. When we first arrived our 2 bedroom 1 bathroom beach shack was lovely and well equipped. Though the weather was horrible it was nice to be able to stay inside. The first night which was a Friday night we jumped straight into bed and we fell asleep straight away and stayed in the upstairs bedroom. Though the next night my partner and I lay in the bed talking, I went to stretch my arms up underneath my pillow and I felt something..... I pulled the pillows off the bed and found a used tissue tucked between the mattress and bed head, though on the sheet.... at this point I was well disgusted and I told my partner to get out of the bed. Now I don't know what happened but I'm presuming this bed was just remade from the last people who stayed in it without new sheets being put on or maybe it was accidently over looked. So by this stage it's 10 o clock at night and reception is closed so we decide to move to the bed downstairs. Though offcourse I was going to check it first unlike my first mistake when we arrived. So I pull the sheets back and I find hair in the bed and some type of dead bug at the bottom of it. Great, our last night there and we discover we slept in a filthy bed the first night without knowing and now we discovery they are both dirty. We decided to sleep on top of the doona on the bed downstairs with the spare blanket out of the cupboard which was clean. The next day we checked out and I told the lady at the reception and all she said is I'm sorry about that.... and didn't seem surprised. Now I don't know if they are having problems with their cleaning ladies but I just wish I was told that she would let management know so the problem could at least be resolved. As I don't feel enough was done over the matter that's why I'm writing this review. I was really enjoying our short weekend away but this experienced just ruined it for us. I love Preston beach though I think if I go back I will just go down for the day or camp. Though I have learnt a lesson always always always check the bed in any hotel or resort even if the place is beautiful and clean you just never know.
