Went cruising with Whalesong today on the dolphin and whale spotting tour. It was brilliant, saw heaps of dolphins and had a VERY close encounter with a humpback. It came within two feet of the boat. The boat is modern, clean and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and the food was great. I can't recommend it highly enough. (Date of experience: Jul, 2011 )

Everyone knows of our annual visit by the Humpback Whale, from mid July to early November, but what most people don't realize is that we are also visited by other varieties of whales as well as a diverse kaleidoscope of other life. Four different species of Dolphins, Dugongs(sea cows), Turtles, Rays & birds. Every day is different, aboard our luxuriously appointed vessel. The diversity of wildlife changes constantly as some are territorial and some are transient. Our consistency comes from the pristine and relatively undisturbed habitats produced within The Hervey Bay Marine Park, bordered by the magnificent Fraser Island.
