If you're in Melbourne to do a bit of shopping, see the sights and have some fabulous food but don't want to pay through the nose for a hotel then this could be a great option for you. It's not fancy, the rooms are functional and there aren't any modcons like plasmas but the rooms are clean and it's in a fabulous location, right near the shopping precinct of Bridge Road and the restaurants and bars of Richmond. It's certainly not where you'd stay for a luxury weekend retreat but for a holiday where the attraction is the city not the accomodation, then this is an ideal choice. They even serve a delicious breakfast each morning so you're all ready for a big day of sightseeing! (Date of experience: Mar, 2009 )

Getting ThereRichmond Hill Hotel is located 4km east of CBD. From Melbourne Airport, a taxi will take 30-40 mins and costs approx $65. The Skybus shuttle bus leaves from outside terminal's one and three every 10 minutes for Southern Cross rail and bus Terminal. From here take either Tram 75 or 48 to Church Street Richmond. Or a taxi will cost $16 - $18. Or take a train to East Richmond station (most Glen Waverley or Alamein line trains stop at East Richmond) If travelling by car from Avalon Airport, Western Citylink & Westgate Freeway take the Power Street exit and follow signs to Richmond. Travel up Swan Street and turn left into Church Street. From Southern Citylink take Burnley exit and follow signs to Richmond.
