I was new to Australia, new to Sydney, new to Glebe and desperately needed somewhere to stay.
Glebe's easy to find accommodation only caters for backpackers - as I was saddled with much more than just a backpack I was lucky to find this Haven on Glebe Point Road.
Things started well immediately from arriving in Sydney as a shuttle driver at the airport knew the Haven well and brought me straight to it's doorstep for just $14.
I was greeted by a spacious room moderately priced and with a bathroom in good nick - which is high up on my list of pre-requisites.
The Haven is located near the Glebe public library, on top of major city and Balmain bound bus routes and is close to the Broadway shopping centre.
I found everything I needed accessible - you are an easy walk away from Sydney's CBD - and when I was bored in the room I browsed the decently sized DVD library downstairs.
The rooms were air conditioned so I was safe from Sydney's stifling summer.
If you just aren't fit for basic accommodation and need to be in Glebe this is the best spot for a short stay.
Points to note: No elevator - the heavy traveller should beware. (Date of experience: Feb, 2009 )
