I booked & paid for a twin porthole cabin. These show on the site, twin beds with a porthole between through which you see the sea. All twin porthole cabins are like this.
And they are expensive.
This was a special weekend only expensive trip for me and my son who had just graduated after 6 years study and is working untold hours.
What we got was a cabin the same size and crammed with 2 double bunks.
The porthole was there, when I opened the curtain I looked straight into the eyes of a man climbing the stairs just outside. Beyond him was not a sea view but a wall of stacked lifeboats.
Overhead there was ---and is still there waiting for you--a light like a street light pointing straight down the porthole.
When I complained this was not what I booked and paid for, I got told "we don't have enough twin berth porthole cabins".
Please note as well, the expensive restaurant onboard books out by the time most people board with cars. The other food is terrible and expensive.
