1 week stay over Christmas. Bedroom furniture had a thick layer of dust. This was bad for the kids and allergies and we had to cover the bed heads with linen. Bathroom tile grout/seals were mouldy. Air conditioner oozed grease!!! Bedroom door knobs fell off. Toilet flush broken and would keep filling. Screen doors and windows were deteriorating badly.
When we asked for a fold out bed for a night, we got one with slats that would fall out from under you every time you moved!!!
Full list of complaints was given to the caretaker at time of check-out. No real apology or offer to make amends, just lame excuses about the owner's responsibilities.
We paid a $500 deposit months in advance, and paid the balance immediately at check-in. Mistake on our part. For the amount of money charged, we would have expected that someone was maintaining these apartments. Yet it looked like something straight out of the 80's era, and perhaps hadn't been cleaned since then either.
We were looking forward to spending a fun filled Christmas with family back home in Australia. We hadn't seen them for over two years. Instead, we spent the entire time knowing we just blew over NZD$2000 on poor accommodation.
