Hidden Valley Retreat Cottages

My husband and I have spent many magical weekends at Hidden Valley and will return again and again. If you are looking for a sterile hotel room, this is not the place for you. Its charm is in the little things. There is no check in, just open your cottage and you are there! A welcome note with directions to the main house greet you. A fire is laid in the fire place, there is a bottle of bubbly in the fridge and candles and oils in the bathroom. The kitchen end comes equipped with coffee and tea making things as you would expect, but also cocoa, marshmallows and even seed to attract the wild birds if you wish. Hidden Valley is pet friendly and our puppies love a weekend there as much as we do. There are no close neighbours which means you can make some noise if you like without attracting the ire of other holiday makers, you also dont have to worry about them disturbing you. There are a few small drawbacks, as mentioned in another review the kitchen is somewhat rustic, and I always take the time to clean the equipment and utensils before I use them, but having said that, I do that in any cabin or hotel I stay at. I have always found the owners to be helpful and approachable whenever I have needed to ask for anything and I can tell you hubby and I will be back year after year.
