Peppers Salt Resort & Spa is a little gem tucked away near the village of Kingscliff. It’s right opposite the beach, which is quite secluded the further you walk down. The accommodation rooms are extremely clean, modern & well fitted with the bonus of a private balcony. If you get one of the rooms on the ground floor you have the added bonus of your own small plunge pool outside your room. I am definitely booking one of these when I return in summer. The staff are friendly and helpful without being in your face all the time.
The large lagoon swimming pool is amazing with its own little sandy beach & recliner chairs. I personally liked the huge cushioned wicker chairs that fit 2 people (great for couples) dotted discretely around the pool. They were great for curling up with a good book & there is cafe service to them, so get used to relaxing.
I can highly recommend the Golden Door Spa on the premises, especially the mud herb bath which you can share with your partner in privacy. This is a perfect way to de-stress and further relax.
The resort restaurant “Roughies” serves excellent food & is very reasonably priced for such high class, fine dining. The buffet breakfast served here in the morning is also very good & complete. Eating out there are so many options. Just around the corner I can highly recommend “Fins Seafood Restaurant” which has won many awards including 2 Chef Hats. The Portuguese seafood soup is as good as I have ever had. In the town of Kingscliff, there is also a delightful Nepalese Restaurant & the local pub was packed with diners.
Peppers Salt Resort & Spa Kingscliff is one of those hard to find quality getaways which isn’t over developed like many areas nearby & has retained a village atmosphere but sprouting luxury. I will definitely be returning. (Date of experience: May, 2010 )
